President Trump's Long History of Mocking The Appearances of His Female Critics and Powerful Women
#770From The New York Daily News
And ladies, you want THIS GUY to be your President? This man, as evidenced here in this article, has zero respect for you. I guess, his mother (and likely his father) never had the time to teach him never to call any woman you wouldn't call the woman who gave him life. But then again, this being Donald Trump, you never know.
Just saying.
Jessica Schladebeck of the New York Daily News wrote:
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder -- not the President.
President Trump has long made it a habit to disparage the appearances of women who have questioned and called him out -- among his latest victims, porn star Stormy Daniels, who claims she had a brief affair with Trump during a celebrity golf tournament in 2006.
A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed Daniels' defamation suit against Trump, which stemmed from a tweet in which the President slammed claims that a man threatened the X-rated actress against revealing the tryst as a "total con job."
"Great, now I can go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the great state of Texas," Trump taunted in a tweet in wake of the decision. "She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!"
Here's a look back at some of Trump's similar attacks:
ALICIA MACHADO
In the months after she was crowned the winner of Trump's Miss Universe Pageant in 1996, Machado said the President subjected her to inappropriate behavior and verbal harassment.
He accused her of gaining too much weight in wake of the competition and referred to her as "Miss Housekeeping" -- a seemingly racist dig at her Venezuela roots -- and "Miss Piggy." Machado came forward with his attacks amid his bid for office in 2016 and became a routine talking point for his Democratic rival at the time, Hillary Clinton.
Machado in August 2016 took to Instagram to reveal she'd become a U.S. citizen so that she could vote against Trump in the election, blasting him for the way he'd treated her in the past. In September the same year, the President during an appearance on Fox & Friends said Machado's weight was a "real problem" after she nabbed the crown.
"Did crooked Hillary help disgusting (check out sex tape and past) Alicia M become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in the debate?" Trump wrote in a follow-up tweet.
ROSIE O'DONNELL
Amid the President's long-running feud with the renowned comedic actress, Trump has repeatedly attacked O'Donnell for her weight and has even mocked her struggles with mental illness.
"She announced last week that she suffers from depression," he said during a 2007 speech. "They call me for comment and rather than saying 'I have no comment' or 'isn't that too bad, oh that's so bad,' I said, 'I think I can cure her depression,' -- most of you heard of this. 'If she stopped looking in the mirror, I think she'd stop being so depressed.'"
Later in the same speech, Trump said it was "politically correct bulls---" that people would not call her fat.
"This slob, now I'm not allowed to use the word fat. They say, 'he used the fat word.' I know much worse words," he continued. "It's funny, I called her a degenerate, I called her the worst things. Nobody cared."
A year before, he said the A League of Our Own actress was "disgusting inside and out."
"If I were running The View, I'd fire Rosie. I'd look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers and say, 'Rosie you're fired,'" he continued.
"We're all a little chubby but Rosie's just worse than most of us. But it's not the chubbiness -- Rosie is a very unattractive person, both inside and out."
ANGELINA JOLIE
Often hailed as one of the most beautiful people in the world, not even Angelina Jolie is safe from the President's critical eye.
During an interview on CNN's Larry King Live in 2007, the then-businessman took issue with all the pomp and circumstance surrounding the award-winning actress' physical appearance.
"Angelina Jolie is sort of amazing because everyone thinks she's like this great beauty. And I'm not saying that she's an unattractive woman, but she's not beauty, by any stretch of the imagination," he said.
"In terms of beauty, she's not a great beauty. She's a nice looking woman. She's OK. But she's not great."
Trump, seemingly put off by the notorious smooch Jolie planted on her brother after claiming her Oscar, also mocked her status as a global ambassador.
"And now she's like the representative of the United Nations and world peace on hunger and all of this crap," he ranted. "It's called give me a break."
GAIL COLLINS
In a message sent to The New York Times, Trump took aim at columnist Gail Collins after she mocked his presidential aspirations in a piece published in the paper. She blasted him as "the man who can make Bill O'Reilly look like the most sensible guy in the room."
"During one down period, I referred to him in print as a 'financially embattled thousandaire' and he sent me a copy of the column with my picture circled and 'The face of a Dog!' written over it," Collins claimed in a 2011 op-ed.
Trump has labeled a long list of women "dogs" during his time in the public eye, including his former staffer Omarosa Manigault and actress Kristen Stewart.
CHER
Cher, a vocal supporter of Clinton in the 2016 election, has repeatedly sparred with Trump in the digital arena, at one point saying he "doesn't have two brain cells to rub together."
In 2012, the legendary songstress took to Twitter and fired off an all-caps promise to boycott Macy's after learning it carried Trump's line.
She slammed him as a "racist cretin" and "loudmouth," prompting the President to respond with a slew of insults as well.
"Cher should spend more time focusing on her family and dying career," he wrote, adding, "Cher -- I don't wear a 'rug' -- it's mine. And I promise not to talk about your major plastic surgeries that didn't work.
In a follow-up tweet he wrote: "It's amazing how people can talk about me, but I'm not allowed to talk about them."
ARIANNA HUFFINGTON
Trump has also targeted media executive Arianna Huffington for her outward appearance -- in 2012 he called her "unattractive both inside and out."
"I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man," he continued. "He made a good choice."
He hit out against Huffington again in 2015 with a nasty tweet that also took aim at her looks.
"How much money is the extremely unattractive (both inside and out) Arianna Huffington paying her poor ex-hubby for the use of his name?"
HEIDI KLUM
Trump during a 2015 interview with The New York Times hit out at one the world's top supermodels. When asked how he managed to survive the insulting comments he made about John McCain and to rate Klum, the President admitted he had a tendency to cross the line.
"Sometimes I do go a little bit far," he said before adding, "Heidi Klum. Sadly, she's no longer a 10."
The former Project Runway host and Sports Illustrated cover girl fired back with a snarky video on Twitter at the time.
The short clip sees her all smiles wearing a sign with the number 10 on it before a man sporting a Trump mask rips it off to reveal the number "9.99" scrawled across Klum's white tee.
CARLY FIORINA
Fiorina, an American business woman and political figure, was dissed by Trump during her bid for the Republican nomination for President in 2015.
According to Rolling Stone, Trump mocked the Hewlett-Packard CEO while he sat down for a meal surrounded by his staff.
When she appeared on his television screen, he quipped: "Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?
"I mean she's a woman and I'm not supposed to say bad things, but really folks, come on. Are we serious?"
HILLARY CLINTON
Trump also seized on Clinton's looks throughout the 2016 election and similarly claimed she did not have the right look to be president.
"I just don't think she has a presidential look, and you need a presidential look," he said during a Sept. 6 interview with Lester Holt.
"She doesn't have the stamina," he added.
A month later at a rally in North Carolina, Trump said he "wasn't impressed" when the former Secretary of State walked in front of him during one of their debates.
HEIDI CRUZ
Amid the 2016 elections, Trump shared an unflattering photo of Ted Cruz's wife alongside a photo of Melania Trump.
"A picture's worth a thousand words," the meme was captioned.
The insulting tweet came on the heels of an anti-Trump ad commissioned by a super PAC -- not affiliated with the Cruz campaign -- which shows the First Lady posing nude in a shoot for GQ Magazine.
Cruz slammed Trump's decision to retweet the image, writing "Donald, real men don't attack women. Your wife is lovely, and Heidi is the love of my life."
JESSICA LEEDS
Leeds is among several women who have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against the President. She claimed Trump groped her in the early 1980s, when they were sitting next to each other on a first-class flight.
"He was like an octopus," she recalled. "It was an assault.
In response, Trump said Leeds, now 74, was not attractive enough for him to grope, as she claims he did.
"Yeah, I'm gonna go after -- believe me, she would not be my first choice, that I can tell you," he said during a 2016 campaign rally.
NATASHA STOYNOFF
In the weeks leading up the Presidential election, Stoynoff alleged Trump sexually assaulted her while she was writing a profile on him for People magazine in 2005.
Trump brushed off the allegations as he did with Leeds, encouraging his supporters at 2016 Florida rally to "look at her."
"Look at her, look at her words," he continued. "You tell me what you think, I don't think so."
MIKA BRZEZINSKI
In a series of scathing tweets fired off by Trump in June 2017, the President slammed the Morning Joe host and mocked the ratings for the MSNBC morning show.
"I heard poorly rated Morning Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore,)" he wrote. "Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me?
"She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!"
Her co-host, Joe Scarborough dismissed reports that he partied with Trump on New Years, claiming he and Brzezinski were actually at Mar-a-Lago to set up an interview with the Commander-in-Chief.
Brzezinski has long been vocal critic of Trump -- at the time, she had equated his presidency with a "dictatorship."
And ladies, you want THIS GUY to be your President? This man, as evidenced here in this article, has zero respect for you. I guess, his mother (and likely his father) never had the time to teach him never to call any woman you wouldn't call the woman who gave him life.
