Bill Cosby Thinks Prison is an 'Amazing Experience,' Compares Himself to MLK
Page 1 of 1 • Share
From USA TODAY
I don't know of anyone who would call their time in prison an amazing experience. Personally speaking, I've never been to prison nor do I want to or plan to go. Another thing, I never put it in my mind that I would compare myself to be anything like The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mahatma Gandhi or Nelson Mandela. None of these me that Bill Cosby is comparing himself to were ever charged or convicted of sexual assault. These men were about peace, equality, respect for their fellow man. You, Mr. Cosby, while being celebrated as "America's Dad" for your portrayal of Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show, you showed your true colors. You should be ashamed of yourself exalting yourself among these GIANTS when you're show yourself a monster-sized ant. To think I once respected you not only as an actor and comedian, but as a man. It goes to show that it is true that sometimes your heroes can and WILL let you down!
Just Saying.
Rasha Ali and Maria Puente of USA TODAY wrote:Bill Cosby's spokesman, Andrew Wyatt, is shedding light on the comedian's day-to-day life in prison and according to him, it's not so bad behind bars.
"Despite the circumstances, he said, ‘This is an amazing experience,'" Wyatt said in an interview with Philadelphia's NBC10.
On Wednesday, in a statement emailed to USA TODAY, Wyatt said Cosby, 81, had a slightly different message, in which he declared he has "no remorse" and never will, and compared himself to the likes of Martin Luther King, Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and other "political prisoners."
"My political beliefs, my actions of trying to humanize all races, genders and religions landed me in this place surrounded by barb-wire fencing, a room made of steel and iron," the statement from Cosby said. "So, I now have a temporary residence that resembles the quarters of some of the Greatest Political Prisoners... I stand upright as a Political Prisoner and I Smile. The Truth is Strong!”
