Worst Referees and Decisions in MMA/UFC and Boxing IERHI

Welcome back to FREE BYTE.  In a previous post, I introduced you to some of Major League Baseball's worst umpires and the decisions they make on the field.  Bad decision making and personalities are not limited to the four major sports (Baseball, Basketball, Football and Hockey) ladies and gentlemen.

Listing them by name would be a complete waste of this post.  So instead, I will show off documented footage of these officials at their level worst.  Mind you these guys are in two great combat sports: Mixed Martial Arts (MMA which includes the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)) and Boxing.

Still not convinced?  How about some of the mistakes they make calling fights, like stopping the fight too early...

    ... or too late...

Sure it's tough to be the "third man" in the ring or the cage, but still, the referee's job is to protect the fighters when they can't protect themselves... intelligently.

Still not convinced?  What if I told you that Boxing has their share of bad ref issues too?  OK.  Here's the evidence.  Remember this saying as you watch: "It takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch."

Yep.  Dan Kelley's refereeing career in Boxing was that short.  One fight.  But hey, there have been worse robberies in Boxing as well, be it from the refs or the judges.  Take a look at 10 of these.

Was it just me, or did all the referees and judges in the last two videos wear sunglasses?

No matter how you slice it, in Boxing or Mixed Martial Arts, if you don't want to get robbed in scenarios like these, my advice to the competitors is a simple one.  LEAVE THE FIGHT IN YOUR OWN HANDS.  GO FOR THE KNOCKOUT OR SUBMISSION (IN MMA).

    Just Saying

Well, I don't have time to watch all the videos, but I'm kind of glad to hear that my sport isn't the only one suffering from refereeing problems. In Formula One, I feel like barely a race goes by where I don't get mad at a silly (or, if I'm being generous, poorly-explained) decision by the stewards!

Oh, well... I'm used to it by now >_< .
