Dog and Beth: The Fight of Their Lives Rakv

Welcome to a non-news, non-political edition of BETHEA'S BYTE: FREE BYTE.  The last time I did a Free Byte on something celebrity related, it revolved around the apparent suicide of Anthony Bourdain.  Now, I bring an article on my favorite reality couple, Duane "Dog" Chapman and his wife, Beth Chapman from Dog The Bounty Hunter and Dog and Beth: On The Hunt.  This is the article from The Daily Mail with a video from People Magazine.

Heidi Parker of DailyMail.com wrote:Beth Chapman's cancer has returned.

And the Dog The Bounty Hunter star told the latest issue of InTouch Weekly that she will fight 'every step of the way' to get better even though her cancer has been called 'incurable' as it has spread to her lungs.

'I have to keep faith, I am the leader of the family,'  her husband Duane Chapman, 65, told the publication. 'She thinks she is, but I am. I have to keep it where I don't have any doubts and keep everything positive. I love my honey so much, I don't know what I'm gonna do.'

He has been praying and admits, 'I cry all the time.'

'I think I'm in a bad dream and I need to wake up,' he said. 'People keep saying to me, "Dog, are you OK?"' he added. 'But I'm not the one who's sick.' But he will stay strong for her: 'I am going to be right here with her.'

He also detailed what happened.   'Half of her lung was full of water,' he added. Five ounces of fluid was drained from her lung after she was rushed to a hospital in LA last week.

She has been told to undergo four to eight chemotherapy sessions in LA, but they are exploring other options as well.

    They are currently in Colorado.

They have been together for 30 years and married for the past 12.

Last week he said she was 'not doing good' after her throat cancer returned.

The 65-year-old TV star made the comments when leaving Mr Chow in Beverly Hills on Wednesday evening where Quentin Tarantino held the after party for his wedding to Israeli singer Daniella Pick, 35.

Dog looked downcast and he also asked fans to 'pray' for his spouse.

'Listen I appreciate the question and please say a prayer, she's not doing good,' he said when outside Mr Chow.

The star had on a black hoodie with a silver dog tag around his neck and was visibly distraught as he talked to a camera man.

His update was delivered in a matter-of-fact way as his daughter Lyssa looked on.  Lyssa - whose mother is Lyssa Rae Brittain, 64 - then spoke up.

'We really appreciate the prayers of our fans and we appreciate the support of our fans. We're all so devastated, we love our mommy so much. We got such an amazing outpour from our fans and we really appreciate it. Poor daddy.'

Dog stepped in, 'Listen we love you guys too bro, aloha, say a prayer.'

He then hugged two friends goodbye. It seemed as if he was not attending Quentin's after party but had rather dined with two pals and his daughter at Mr Chow.

Dog ended by saying, 'I wish she could have been here tonight' before getting into an SUV and saying 'aloha.'

Beth underwent an emergency surgery to remove a life-threatening blockage on Tuesday.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Dog shared details of his wife's surgery, revealing the newly discovered lump in her throat was double the size of the mass she had previously.

'She had a lump in her throat twice the size of last time, and they performed an emergency surgery yesterday,' the star, 65, said.

The last time was in 2017.

'They cut a hole in her throat so she can breathe; she can still talk.'

In light of the medical emergency, Dog explained his wife was 'doing her best' and is staying 'incredibly strong.'

Dog also revealed Beth will be undergoing a second biopsy on Wednesday after doctors discovered 'something in her lung, which may also be cancerous.'

Just last year she underwent surgery to have a cancerous tumor removed from her neck but was found to be cancer-free shortly thereafter.

Dog and Beth rose to fame on A&E series Dog The Bounty Hunter which aired for eight seasons from August 2004 to May 2012.

They then moved on to spin-off Dog and Beth: On the Hunt which aired for three seasons from April 2013 to August 2015.

They wed in 2006 after 16 years of being on and off, and have two children together: Bonnie and Garry. Dog has several other children from previous relationships.

Ever since I watched the special episode called Dog and Beth: The Fight of Their Lives, I have been in tears and in prayer for Beth, for Dog, and for their family.  Everyone who knows me knows how much I hate cancer in all it's many deadly forms.  I'm still praying for the Chapman family.  I still hate cancer.  This is something you don't joke with, and in this article, I have no sarcasm to give because of the very nature of this fight and this disease and where it's located.

Let's keep Duane "Dog" Chapman, his wife Beth and their family in prayer that somehow this cancer can be beaten.  Keep fighting Beth.  God's got your back too.

    Just saying.

Wow, I'm very sad to hear that her cancer has returned :'( . Nobody deserves to have to face it even once - let alone twice.

Still, if she beat it before, then hopefully that's a sign that she can beat it again. I wish her and the family all the best.
