Texas Man Gets Life Sentence for Tying Concrete to His Wife's Neck and Throwing Her Into a Lake
#1229From People Magazine
This guy got lucky. He could have easily plead "Not Guilty" went to trial, be found "Guilty" and be sentenced to death. Under Texas state law, a guilty plea avoids a long, dragged out criminal trial. The upside to this story is that he will spend the rest of his life behind bars without the possiblility of parole. What a lucky guy. It would have been easier to divorce his wife.
Just Saying.
Steve Helling of People Magazine wrote:
A Texas man will spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty to murdering his wife by tying her to a 119-pound block of concrete before throwing her into a lake to drown.
Rodolfo “Rudy” Arellano, 36, pleaded guilty to kidnapping and murdering Elizabeth Pule Arellano, PEOPLE confirms. Under the plea agreement, he will not be given the death penalty but will spend the rest of his life behind bars without the possibility of parole.

Yeah, he's lucky he can avoid the death penalty by pleading guilty like that. But, at least he'll no longer be able to take innocent lives while he's in prison.
