Cruz Criticizes O'Rourke On Dallas Shooting: Wish He Wasn't 'So Quick To Always Blame The Police Officer'
#700From The Hill
Let me break this down for you one more time... Remember, this officer has changed her story more times than you can change your stance on gun control after a mass shooting. But since you need a breakdown, here it is:
There's a lot to the officer's story that doesn't add up. In fact, a Facebook response by Joy Perrie breaks everything down for us as we know it. NOTE: I have edited this posting for spelling and grammatical errors if necessary.
Yes, she is charged with manslaughter. You politicized this the moment you mention Democrats as soon as your challenger for Senate seat made mention of this case. This is about Botham Shem Jean, not your Senate seat, Mr. Cruz. Now the moment you see this, you'll have to ask yourself what's right and what's wrong. When you figure it out, you know which way to side.
Just saying.
Ted Cruz, are you kidding me right now?Michael Burke of The Hill wrote:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) criticized Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas) for saying a Dallas police officer who fatally shot an unarmed man in his own apartment should be fired, adding that he wished his challenger and other Democrats "weren’t so quick to always blame the police officer."
“It’s possible what happened was a horrifying and horrific misunderstanding, or it may be something else," Cruz told Fox 26 Houston in an interview aired on Sunday. "And that’s why we have a legal justice system, to actually learn what the facts are and learn what happened. I wish Beto O’Rourke and Democrats weren’t so quick to always blame the police officer, always attack the police officer."
The officer, Amber Guyger, earlier this month walked into the apartment of her neighbor Botham Jean, a black man, and shot him. She has claimed that she thought she was entering her own apartment and believed him to be an intruder.
At a rally last week, O'Rourke said Guyger should be fired, according to Fox 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth.
“I don't understand, given the actions, how anyone can come to any other conclusion," O'Rourke said when asked if Guyger deserves to be fired.
Cruz said in his interview with Fox 26 Houston that "everyone is horrified by what happened," but added that he doesn't think "we should jump to conclusions."
"She may have been in the wrong. She’s facing legal proceedings and if a jury of her peers concludes that she behaved wrongly, then she’ll face the consequences," he said, referring to Guyger. “But I don’t think we should jump to conclusions. It may have been just a horrific understanding with horrifying consequences.”

- She ended her shift & returned to the CORRECT police department
- She clocked out using the CORRECT time clock
- She retrieved her CORRECT belongings from the CORRECT locker
- She went to the CORRECT parking lot & retrieved her CORRECT car using the CORRECT set of keys
- She then drove .2 miles on the CORRECT side of the street using CORRECT hand & eye coordination & observing all CORRECT traffic laws
- She turns her car into the CORRECT apartment building............ Wait For It....NEXT IS WHERE THEY WANT US TO BELIEVE AN ACUTE ONSET OF BLINDNESS & AMNESIA TOOK PLACE
- She is now CONFUSED & parks on the WRONG garage floor on the WRONG side of the building
- She gets out of the CORRECT car & locks the doors with the CORRECT keys & takes her CORRECT personal belongings.
- She takes the stairs and/or elevator to the WRONG FLOOR
- With her eyes open (The same ones used in the preceding events & she used all day) She walks to the WRONG apartment door
- At this door is a RED DOORMAT that she has never seen before & located on the side of the door is where the apartment number can be visualized (Sorry I forgot she went blind)
- According to different reports she either:
A. Bangs & yells on the WRONG door because her CORRECT keys won't open the WRONG door & Mr. Botham answers the door & is shot.
B. Stated WRONG door was UNLOCKED & she enters the WRONG dark apartment and SUDDENLY REGAINS HER SIGHT & sees an unknown male and fires her police issued weapon at suspect striking him in the chest - At this point she turns on the light & realizes she is in the WRONG APARTMENT & shot the WRONG PERSON
- She regains her vision & calls 911 (It has not been reported that she began CPR on Mr. Bonham)
- EMS & police arrive in 4 minutes and per a video taken by a tenant & posted on social media said officer can be seen pacing hallways & talking on phone (family? lawyer?)
- EMS is seen providing CPR to Mr. Botham who is subsequently taken to & pronounced dead at a local Dallas Hospital
- Officer sleeps in a comfortable bed & remains free without charges for 3 days because this has been described to the public as "A VERY SPECIAL CASE"
- Mr. Botham is placed on a cold slab in the coroner's morgue as his family flies thousands of miles from St. Lucia to identify their beloved son & brother's body
- 72 hrs later officer is charged with manslaughter in the death of Mr. Botham & posts 10% of the $300,000 bail is back home with her family
- Mr. Botham's family prepares to bury him on Thursday.
